Snake E-Oil: The SEO Swindle (eBook)

Get your FREE copy of my new book, SNAKE E-OIL: The SEO Swindle (Kindle edition).

This is a short, to-the-point book that focuses on search engine optimization (SEO)—as well as search engine marketing (SEM)—for the small business owner.

I spent fifteen years acting as webmaster of the e-commerce site I launched in 1997. Of course back then SEO was something that was accomplished, mostly, by adding plenty of related keywords to the pages you wanted to rank. The more keywords, the higher up the SERPs your site moved.

Things started to change dramatically by the early 2000s when Google started improving their search algorithms to use other signals, such as incoming links. At this point, the SEO industry exploded and—along with this nascent field—all sorts of SEO "experts" popped up almost overnight. Along they brought all sorts of tricks such as hidden text, page cloaking, links wheels, duplicate websites and content, and much more, or what is nowadays referred to as "black hat SEO techniques."

The proliferation of these "black hat" hacks, prompted search engines, especially Google, to launch counter-measures which, as well-intentioned and needed as they were, wreaked havoc for many honest business websites.

Fast-forward to 2014 and, unfortunately, these modern-day snake oil salesmen (or Snake E-Oil peddlers, as I like to call them), are still busy at work attempting to con small business owners with their questionable SEO techniques.

SNAKE E-OIL: The SEO Swindle gives you the information you'll need to spot these "experts" and avoid them.

The book also provides an easy-to-grasp description of most subjects important to the small business owner as far as what works, and what doesn't when it comes to SEO and SEM, which should also be very helpful if you need to talk to search engine optimizers or if you decide to do your own website optimizing and marketing.

You can get your own copy of the book for FREE for your Kindle reader, but the offer expires by Sunday, March 2nd, 2014, so act now!

And if you can spare a minute after you've read the book, please leave me some Amazon feedback, and you can also feel free to share your thoughts and ideas with me right here.

Thanks!
